Ghosts of Paradise

Batou and Togusa of Section Nine investigate the disappearance of Major Motoko Kusanagi. Their search through Japan's criminal networks reveals a conspiracy extending to Singapore. The Major has infiltrated a gang in that city, which is developing an illicit Net program designed to transform the sex trade. Her objective is to rescue a childhood friend from being used as a test subject in the project. The operation risks her own dissolution within this corrupt system, potentially becoming another lost 'Ghost of Paradise'.
