Adolfo, a gifted artist wholly committed to a life of religious devotion, strives to avoid all carnal temptation. His resolve is tested upon encountering a beautiful rural girl. Intense indecent thoughts, uncontrollable desires, and erotic fantasies begin to assail him. Misinterpreting these new sensations through his virginal naivete, he confuses lust for love. This leads him to succumb to sin and spiritual ruin.
